I see this whole trailblazing, backpacking, holding all your needs and possessions comfortably on your own shoulders as both literal and metaphorical. Oh, and figurative. Three things at least. I like thinking about lessening burdens rather than adding to them. Just read that Ghandi had less than ten possessions when he died. I knew it was a small number. I'm not sure why I saw numerous referrals to "less than ten" but no actual number, like nine. Could there be debate over whether a pair of sandals is one or two possessions?
