I've come up with a definition of cooking slow. Slow, in my world means shopping within walking distance.
The images from our free tacos at the 1201 Kitchen was well worth the price of two glasses of wine. These are from last Taco Tuesday. I gave the bartenderess the rest of the sponge candy as a tip. I took the photo of the sous chef using the mirror at the bottom of the stairs. Still too nervous to take blatant faces. Had I been braver, I could have at least met the chef owner, Dan Kern. This was the second Tuesday that Terry and I blatantly exploited free tacos. It's only proper that the next time I thank the owner. | In that spirit, everything shown here is within walking distance, except for the potatoes. They really are locally grown. In the spirit, though, I am staying within a more global idea of slow. It's a good rule for cooking, anyway. Eat what is in season. Root vegetables and squash. Yummo. |
