Gardening at a most basic level. Dirt, seeds, water, warmth. Seed packets with instructions to 'sow indoors 6 weeks before last frost.' Gardening is a lesson in patience. The garden is a manifestation of that patience. February, though, is when I throw patience out the window and wallow in the dream of gratification. These small seeds, this tiny bit of dirt, just a few short days on top of the fridge and I will have instant plants!
Gramma took a nap today that lasted most of daylight. She woke up disoriented and stir crazy. Once we were out of the house, I declared that we weren't going home until we had a traditional plastic greenhouse. I also declared that from now on I will wake her up come noon no matter if she's only been asleep for five minutes. She will reserve the right to slug me. |
Seeds, in February, are Hope. | Seeds, glory from the start. I just found out that there are Seed Libraries. They look to be set up for kids. Borrow seeds, grow them, then return the seeds. I can't think of a better way to illustrate the future. |
