Yesterday we celebrated a season I'd never heard of before. It's the season between Winter and Spring, called Sugaring. It begins around the same time Traditional Cheap Plastic Greenhouse Month begins and ends around the same time the Crocus blooms. During this time the sap runs up the maple trees. Crows started cawing, telling the world it was thawing. The robins have begun to sing. I like knowing about this new season, even though it is now DUN.
Today was truly a day of Spring. Nyko was out sunbathing. She also 'treed' one of the neighborhood cats that like hanging around where the birds hang around.
Today was also Shannon's first day of chemo. We wanted to celebrate her good health with a walk around the Peninsula, but the weather got in our way. Went looking for waterspouts on the lake instead. When Nyko and I were enjoying the sunshine, it was eighty degrees here in Erie, PA. By the time Shannon and I got down to Presque Isle, the hard rain and rapid drop in temperature made everything a little steamy. I'd say it dropped a good twenty degrees. It is now in the lower fifties.
