Will commence October 4th. Out and back, which means hiking out, sleeping, then hiking back. This is different from doing a loop. Don't I sound knowledgeable? The first thing a new comer does is assimilate the language. Have I mentioned this before? It's as true as needing scissors if the package says, "Tear here."
Thought I'd share a little something with yawl. I was thinking about leaving no trace during today's hiking practise. I met Shannon at the picnic table from which I deduced existed a trail. | The trail is Graveyard Trail. It is a .75 mile trail that follows the lagoon and actually ends at the picnic table I mentioned. Graveyard Trail is wide enough for two people to walk abreast. Partway down the trail is what looks like a manhole cover, sort of, but it's actually a tire that has sifted it's way to the top of the earth. |
The picnic table is key, though. I'd only ever seen it from the water. No way did the park place a wooden picnic table accessible only to water. The path exists, yay for my inductive logic. It is practically wheelchair accessible. Man made it to accommodate high wires of some sort.
This photograph is taken at the launch area. The trail runs along the shore opposite. After I picked up the litter, I had Terry drive me to the beginning of the trail, at Perry Monument. The bathrooms are open there and I could wash my hands before practise hiking.
